Our History

Founded in 2007 as the Clinton County Economic Alliance, our organization has been dedicated to supporting business growth and economic vitality across Clinton County. Now operating as Clinton County Catalyst, we’ve been a trusted partner in the community for nearly 20 years—connecting businesses to resources, fostering development, and helping shape a stronger, more resilient local economy.   Learn more about our history below.

Introduction
The Beginning

On January 8, 2007, first meeting was held to begin the formation of Clinton County Economic Alliance (CCEA).  The goal of the CCEA is to create and promote initiatives to attract new companies looking for an excellent workforce, proactively retaining the jobs already in Clinton County, promoting new tourism opportunities and effectively promoting the county's entrepreneurial spirit.

On May 7, 2007 Clinton County Economic Alliance was officially registered with the State of Michigan, Corporations Division.

John Czarnecki, the first President & CEO of  Clinton County Economic Alliance.

Czarnecki establishes partnerships with MEDC, LEAP, and local government leadership to kickstart Clinton County Economic Alliance funding projects.

New President & CEO

Dru Mitchell is the third President of Clinton County Economic Alliance.  She brings a wealth of business knowledge and marketing, which allowed great impact within St. Johns and the rebranding of CCEA to CCC.

Clinton County Economic Alliance was instrumental in working with key stakeholders to bring MWC Glanbia to St. Johns, Michigan.  Opening in June 2020.

BIG Changes

Clinton County Economic Alliance rebranded to become Clinton County Catalyst.  Catalyst's goal is to seek to bring about positive change throughout Clinton County utilizing our Members, businesses, local governments, partners, and other organizations.
